Addy

Addy is a Christ-centered writer, instructional coach, and devoted mother, passionate about encouraging others through biblical truth and personal testimony. She draws inspiration from her faith, her work in education, and her everyday walk with Jesus.

I am Addy Love.

Because of Christ and for Christ, I am:
reborn, redeemed, renewed, renamed, redefined, repurposed, and resplendent.

Reborn

After 21 years of darkness.
Brown eyes, blinking in the bright light of Christ—
forgiveness, mercy, acceptance, and love.

It was all beautifully blurry, and not yet fully believable.

Redeemed

After decades of secret, shaming sin.
Damaged by others.
I also damaged myself.
I cobbled together a life plan with my bruised heart and broken spirit.
I was a spinning compass with no true North.

Then Christ came.
Called me to Him.
Collected my shattered pieces.
Completely healed my wounds.

He rescued me from devastating darkness and deep despair.
I now want nothing more than to sing His praises
and point my whole life to Him.

Jesus became my true North.
He charted a course of new coordinates—
celebrating with celestials that the prodigal daughter had returned.

Renewed

Each day by Christ.

Filled, fueled, and fulfilled.

  • Filled with the power of the Holy Spirit
  • Fueled by His everlasting love for me
  • Fulfilled to be His daughter and part of His bride—the Church.

Renamed

After decades of names being spit on and shoved in me.

I am not:

  • stupid
  • fat
  • useless
  • too sensitive
  • too emotional
  • too much
  • a scaredy-cat
  • a goody two-shoes
  • a bitch
  • conceited
  • selfish
  • lazy
  • broken
  • crazy
  • dirty

I am God’s beloved Addy.
Always have been.
Always will be.

Redefined

By what God says about me.

The very breath of life that spoke the world into existence sings songs over me.

“The LORD your God is with you, he is mighty to save.
He will take great delight in you,
he will quiet you with his love,
he will rejoice over you with singing.”

—Zephaniah 3:17

My only definition:
Christ Follower

Repurposed

To realize and recognize gifts from my Father God.

No longer:

  • craving the crumbs
  • dying for the dregs
  • hampering for the handouts

My hand is to the plow as I worship, pray, lead—
all for God’s glory.

Resplendent

In Christ’s love—

  • His face shining upon me
  • My heart glowing as I look around the landscape of my life
  • View the vicious valleys, where I bloomed and thrived—a wildflower under God’s benediction.
  • Meander the mountaintops, where I lifted my hands to the sky, learning that my help comes from God.
  • Ponder the perilous, yet praiseworthy, path that led me to peace and to my person—my Jay.

The Man Who Tells Me and Shows Me:

  • I am drawn. “No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws him.
And I will raise him up on the last day.”

    —John 6:44
  • I am kept. “All that the Father gives me will come to me,
and whoever comes to me I will never cast out.”

    —John 6:37
  • I am raised. “This is the will of him who sent me,
that I should lose nothing of all that he has given me,
but raise it up on the last day.”

    —John 6:39
  • I am His.
