The Sermon on the Mount

Series overview
The Sermon on the Mount is familiar territory for many Christians, which can make it easy to move past its commands too quickly. The words are well known, but the instructions are often kept at a distance.
This series reads Matthew 5–7 through Christ. Jesus is not giving detached moral ideals or religious theory. He speaks as the King who fulfills the Law and the Prophets, calls His people to Himself, and teaches what life in His kingdom looks like.
The call to obedience should never be confused with earning relationship with God. Salvation is the free gift of grace in Christ. Obedience belongs on the other side of that gift. It is the grateful response of those who have received mercy and the evidence that faith is living and real.
How to use this series
Read these in order
Start with the King and His people, then move into righteousness, devotion, and obedience. The goal is not safe admiration of Jesus’ words, but renewed attention to the life He calls His disciples to live by grace.
